The Pioneer Valley Council
is one of the top
trained councils in the United States.
Our training team conducts some of the
best training in the region with a reputation
for fun while learning! The Pioneer Valley
Council Training Committee shares the view
of the National Council, Boy Scouts of America
that an untrained leader meeting with youth is unacceptable!
It has been shown that:
- Trained leaders re-charter
18% more youth than an untrained leader.
- Parents expect to have their
boys led by quality leaders.
Please ensure that ALL
leaders in your unit receive the
training they need to serve our youth.

Outdoor Webelos
Leader Training
This is a weekend course
held at beautiful Horace A.
Moses Scout Reservation. It is mandatory for
those Bear/Webelos leaders wishing to take
their Webelos den camping. This course will
help the leader to gain a mastery of the outdoor aspects
that are part of the Webelos program. While this training is open to all
Scouters, it was strongly suggested by previous participants that
Bear Cub Leaders take this training so that they will be prepared
when their Bears advance to Webelos. There are some indoor sessions
but, much of the program will be held outdoors. Fire Building,
Outdoor Cooking, Wood Tools, Campfire Planning, Site Selection &
Tenting are but a few of the many sessions offered. Participants
will be expected to set up a den campsite and sleep out. A breakfast,
lunches, a dinner, and a cracker-barrel are included.
